With years of experience as an art teacher, I blend artistic skill-building with a gentle, therapy-informed approach. My work centres on art as therapy, supporting emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and inner exploration through the creative process. In my sessions, I thoughtfully incorporate elements such as symbolism, colour, mindfulness, and intuitive art-making—allowing creativity to become a restorative and meaningful experience, rather than outcome-focused. I offer creative wellness group sessions, teen art therapy programs, and private sessions tailored to individual needs. Located in Mentone, the studio provides a safe and nurturing environment where creativity supports reflection, healing, and personal growth.

FAQ’s

What is Art Therapy?

Art therapy at Art of the Soul Studio is a gentle, creative approach that supports emotional wellbeing through artistic expression. It invites teens to explore their thoughts and feelings using art as a way to better understand themselves.

Creating art allows young people to place parts of their inner world—experiences, challenges, hopes, and emotions—outside of themselves, where they can be safely explored, reflected on, and understood in new ways.

Because art therapy goes beyond words, it can open up new perspectives and help teens navigate their emotions with greater clarity and confidence.

The process of making art itself is deeply supportive. It encourages focus, calm, and a sense of connection, helping teens feel more grounded and engaged in their everyday lives.

At Art of the Soul Studio, we believe creativity is more than just making something beautiful—it’s a meaningful pathway toward self-awareness, healing, and hope. 💜

What does an art therapy session look like?

At Art of the Soul Studio, art therapy sessions are flexible, supportive, and centered around connection.

Each session is guided by your individual needs, so no two sessions look the same. We usually begin with a gentle check-in—creating space to share what’s been happening for you and what you’d like to explore.

From there, we move into the creative process. This might include drawing, painting, working with clay, creating with natural materials, storytelling through sand, or even using movement and simple expression. You’re also welcome to use words—whatever feels most natural to you.

The focus is not on the final artwork, but on the process itself.

Through creative exploration, different materials can help you express thoughts and feelings more clearly, deepen your understanding, and discover new perspectives.

Art therapy is also a relational experience. You’re not doing it alone—you’ll be supported by a trained therapist who walks alongside you, helping you explore, reflect, and gently shape your personal goals.

At Art of the Soul Studio, sessions are thoughtfully adapted for all ages. We also offer individual, group, couple, and family sessions—creating a safe and supportive space for everyone to connect, express, and grow.

Do I have to be an artist to do an art therapy session?

Short answer: not at all.

Art therapy is not about creating something “perfect” or even something to take home—it’s about the process of exploring, understanding, and connecting with yourself.

You don’t need any artistic experience. What matters most is your willingness to be open and present in the moment.

With gentle guidance, you’ll discover your own unique way of expressing thoughts and emotions—one that feels natural and meaningful to you.

And along the way, you may choose to keep your creations as a reminder of your journey, growth, and insights. 💜

How much does a session cost?

Yes—online appointments are available for private art therapy sessions. Your therapist will guide you on what materials to have on hand so you can fully engage in the process from home.

Do you see children as well as adults?

Art therapy sessions at Art of the Soul Studio are open to all ages.

For children, it can be a powerful way to express thoughts and emotions—especially when words are hard to find. Through creative exploration, they’re given a safe and supportive space to communicate in their own way.

We offer both individual and group sessions, and we also welcome couples and families who wish to experience art therapy together.

Our approach is always adapted to suit each person or group, creating a meaningful and supportive experience for everyone involved. 💜

Pricing varies depending on the class or program. For detailed information, please contact us for a personalised quote.

For private art therapy sessions:
• Initial session: $220
• Ongoing sessions: $160 per session

For the best outcomes, we generally recommend a minimum of 8 sessions, allowing time for meaningful progress and deeper exploration.

Concession rates are available for children without funding and for concession card holders.
